GW Net Impact Chapter

Net Impact’s mission is to improve the world by growing and strengthening a network of new leaders who are using the power of business to make a positive net social, environmental & economic impact.  Through our work, the GW Net Impact Chapter seeks to harness the power of business to create a better world by transforming this ideal into measurable results, and enabling members to use business for social and environmental good in their graduate education, their careers, and their communities.

Net Impact is a network of emerging business leaders committed to using the power of business to create a better world. It is also the most progressive and influential network of MBAs in existence today.

GW Net Impact is a student club based at the George Washington School of Business in Washington, DC – but which includes students from many of GW’s graduate programs, including Public Policy, Public Health & Tourism. As GW’s local Net Impact, we seek to advance the goals of Net Impact within the GW community – building a network of leaders using the power of business to make a positive social, environmental & economic impact.

Graduate students from all on-campus departments are welcomed and encouraged to join our mission. Please browse our site and do not hesitate to contact us to learn more about the group.

Environmental and Energy Management Program

The Environmental and Energy Management program is located in the Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the George Washington University.  The program is designed specifically for professionals in the rapidly expanding environmental and energy sectors in the United States and throughout the world.  GW’s proximity to the federal government, major environmental organizations, and high-tech firms in the Washington area helps to combine academic study and first hand practical experience with direct exposure to decision makers and top players in the environmental and energy management field.

The program provides advanced education across the full spectrum of subjects central to the practice of environmental and energy management.  These include protection of air quality, water quality management, hazardous and solid waste management, benefit-cost analysis, risk assessment and management, energy auditing, environmental and energy policy analysis, and other related subjects.  The program embodies not only the engineering and scientific technologies underlying the profession, but also the statutory and regulatory framework in which they are embedded, social and policy considerations that are critically important in modern society, and management tools needed to get the job done.
